چکیده

Abstract A central property of a classical geometry is that the geodesic distance between two events additive. When considering quantum fluctuations in metric or statistical superposition different spacetimes, additivity generically lost at level expectation values. In presence metrics, distances can be made diffeomorphism invariant by frame family free-falling observers pressureless fluid, provided we work sufficiently low energies. We propose to use average squared 〈d^2(x,y)〉 as proxy for understanding effective (or statistical) and emergent causal relations among such observers. At each point, 〈d^2(x,y)〉defines an tensor. However, due non-additivity, not (squared) associated with it. show departures from conveniently captured bi-local quantity C(x, y). Violations build up mutual separation x y correspond C< 0 (subadditive) C > (superadditive). Euclidean are always subadditive: they satisfy triangle inequality but generally fail saturate Lorentzian signature there no definite result about sign C, most physical examples give < exist counterexamples. The causality induced subadditive unorthodox pathological. Superadditivity violates transitivity relations. On these bases, argue expected outcome dynamical evolution, if relatively generic initial conditions considered.

Average Distances of Pyramid Networks

For an interconnection network, calculating average distance of it is in general more difficult than determining its diameter. Diameters of pyramid networks are well known. This study calculates average distances of pyramid networks.

Quantum Brègman distances and categories

We introduce, and investigate the properties of, the family of quantum Brègman distances, based on embeddings into suitable vector spaces (with the reflexive noncommutative Orlicz spaces over semi-finite W-algebras and noncommutative Lp spaces over any W-algebras providing two important examples). This allows us to define geometric categories for nonlinear quantum inference theory, with morphis...

A simple proof of Kingman’s subadditive ergodic theorem is developed from a point of view which is conceptually algorithmic and which does not rely on either a maximal inequality or a combinatorial Riesz lemma.

From Liveness to Promptness

Liveness temporal properties state that something “good” eventually happens, e.g., every request is eventually granted. In Linear Temporal Logic (LTL), there is no a priori bound on the “wait time” for an eventuality to be fulfilled. That is, Fθ asserts that θ holds eventually, but there is no bound on the time when θ will hold. This is troubling, as designers tend to interpret an eventuality F...
